What is VAT? Do I need to pay it?

VAT stands for Value Added Tax. The current rate is 20%. Whether we need to charge you VAT depends on your location and whether you or your business is paying for your ticket:

Where are you located? Who is paying? Will we charge you VAT?
in the UK a business Yes, but you can normally claim it back
an individual Yes
Outside the UK but within the EU a business or organisation with an EU VAT number No, if you provide your EU VAT number when you register
a business without an EU VAT number, or an individual Yes
outside the UK and EU a business or organisation No, as long as you provide your full company or organisation details when you register
an individual Yes

If you have any questions about VAT, please contact us. It's complicated!

What payment methods can I use?

You can register online. We use PayPal for payment processing, so you can use all major credit cards as well as PayPal credit. You don’t need a PayPal account to pay, just a credit card.

You can’t pay by bank transfer if you register after August 12. If there’s a reason you can’t pay though PayPal, please contact us.

We also accept payment by bank transfer. If you pay by bank transfer, please send cleared funds in UK pounds sterling to reach our bank account within 14 days of your registration, or we’ll cancel your registration. If there’s a currency conversion involved, you’re responsible for the conversion fee.

Are there group discounts?

For groups of six of more from the same organisation, we’ll apply a 15% discount for conference passes. This doesn’t apply to the workshops. Contact us if you’d like to take advantage of this discount.
